NTR – The Man, The Actor, The Demigod !

NTR - The Man, The Actor, The Demigod!

Behind every successful man, there’s a woman. The biopic of NTR stands as a testimony to this statement. A movie, about the life of the man who gave a new shape to the Telugu film industry or Tollywood as we know it today, the man who redefined politics in the Telugu state by defeating national parties in elections, the man who enjoyed (still does) a demigod status among people, would he have a woman who shaped his life too?

NTR Kathanayakudu biopic says yes. Narrated from the point of view of NTR’s wife and Balakrishna’s mother (the person playing the titular role) Basavatharakam is the person who was the strength of the star.

The movie takes us through the ups and downs of the actor’s life, his struggles, his passion, his family, his sacrifices, and the struggles of the lady who saw it all up close than any camera could ever see.

A worthy biopic, this movie has certainly raised the bars for the movies that come our way this year and skyrocketed the expectations for the second installment of the biopic NTR Kathanayakudu.

Every character has been cherry-picked and etched carefully to recreate the golden Era of Telugu cinema and showcases the bond the actors shared beautifully. For instance, Sumanth as ANR, NTR’s colleague and friend from the film industry, is the perfect example of casting and acting done right.

Vidhya Balan as always has gotten into the skin of the character she’s playing and recreates the docile and loving yet mentally strong Basavatharakam perfectly on screen.

There are several instances in the movie that would leave you teary-eyed, excited, and goosebumps. But, be wary, this isn’t one of those movies that are done before you realize that it’s begun. Like a fine wine, it slowly grows upon you and leaves you dwindling in the golden Era of Tollywood.

The wait for NTR mahanayakudu just got difficult after this installment. Watched the movie? Share your views in the comments section.
